2017 Maritime Link Transmission Line

Construction of this 200kV HVDC transmission line will enable the transmission of clean, renewable and reliable electricity from Newfoundland and Labrador to Nova Scotia. The Island of Newfoundland geographical region for the project includes installation of transmission towers from Granite Canal to Cape Ray through rugged and challenging terrain accompanied with harsh weather and working conditions in Newfoundland and Labrador.

RDL’s  Role:

  • Plan and execute the completion of the most challenging guy anchors due to terrain and weather including wind in the “Wreck House” in segment 3.  Providing our services to drill, install and complete grouting completions for:

    • rock and soil guy anchors primarily in segment 3

    • rock anchors for self-supporting  towers

    • rock anchors for tangent towers
