Northwest Transmission Line — Phase 2

Challenge

Completion of the 287 kV line from Bob Quinn airstrip to Imperial Metals’ Red Chris Mine and communities around Tatogga Lake through isolated mountainous terrain.

Access & terrain

Multiple heli-portable rigs for micropiles and guy-anchor installation on remote tower sites.

Scope

• Support approximately 100 transmission towers
• Drill and install guy anchors and concrete foundations
• Micropile and guy-anchor installation with heli-portable units

Outcome

Phase completion that extended high-voltage service into one of B.C.’s most remote industrial lines.
